Mapping London's population density
The map shows the population density of London's constituencies based on two different measures of the population: the residential population and the workday population. The residential population shows where people live. The workday population shows where working people work and non-working people live.
Population density by Parliamentary constituency, London, 2011 Census
Residential | Workday
London, R: 5,200 p/km2, W: 5,520 p/km2
The map is shaded to represent population density using a visually linear scale, where white is the lowest density in any constituency, and black is the highest. The workday population of the Cities of London and Westminster has a far higher density than the residential or workday population in any other constituency.
